Analyst Says XRP Price Will Explode Once This Happens
XRP’s current price action may look unremarkable to traders focused on short-term movements. But crypto analyst ChartNerd believes the lack of excitement could be part of a much larger market cycle.
In a post on X, the analyst pointed to previous periods of prolonged weakness and accumulation before major XRP rallies, suggesting that 2026 and 2027 could eventually be remembered as another important preparation phase.
Remember 2014-2017 with consistent lower highs before a giga print into 2018? Remember the boring accumulation phase between 2022-2024 before the print from $0.40 to $3.60? Soon we will likely remember 2026-2027 as the bear/pre-mark up phase before the run towards $8+
ChartNerd Points to XRP’s Previous Cycles
ChartNerd compared the current XRP market structure with periods that preceded major historical price expansions. The analyst specifically referenced the 2014 to 2017 period, when XRP recorded consistent lower highs before eventually making a major move that led into the 2018 peak.
According to ChartNerd, XRP also experienced a long and relatively uneventful accumulation period between 2022 and 2024. That phase preceded a substantial increase from around $0.40 to $3.60, highlighting how extended periods of limited price performance have previously occurred before major moves.
The analyst believes the current market could follow a similar pattern. ChartNerd suggested that XRP’s present conditions could eventually be viewed as the bear or pre-markup phase of another major cycle.
The analyst wrote that XRP “will explode when noone’s left,” before suggesting that traders could eventually look back at 2026 and 2027 as the period that preceded a move toward $8 or higher.
ChartNerd has previously used historical XRP structures and Fibonacci projections to identify potential long-term targets, including $8, $13 and $27.
2026-2027 Could Become a Key Period
ChartNerd’s latest view does not suggest that XRP must immediately begin a major rally. Instead, the analyst expects the current phase to continue before a stronger upward move develops.
The comparison with earlier cycles centers on the amount of time XRP spent moving sideways or declining before buyers eventually gained control. Under this interpretation, prolonged weakness would not necessarily invalidate the long-term bullish thesis.
The analyst’s reference to an $8+ target represents a significant move from current levels. However, ChartNerd presented the projection as a potential outcome based on historical price behavior rather than a guaranteed result.
The timing also remains uncertain. A commenter identified as Daveincrypto asked how long the current phase could last, noting that some people expect the next major move to arrive in early 2027. That comment reflects the key uncertainty surrounding ChartNerd’s outlook: the potential structure may be easier to identify than the exact timing.
ChartNerd’s analysis ultimately focuses on patience and historical market behavior. If XRP follows the pattern ChartNerd described, 2026 and 2027 could represent an extended period of consolidation before a larger advance. For now, however, the timing and eventual price direction remain uncertain.
