SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci believes cryptocurrency is approaching a stage where mainstream users will interact with blockchain technology without even realizing it.

The prominent Bitcoin advocate argued that crypto's greatest success will come when the underlying technology becomes practically invisible to everyday consumers.

Norm Tuckwell, who claimed that "normal people will never use crypto." In response, Scaramucci countered that ordinary users "will soon use crypto/blockchain without even realizing it."

Many developers see a future where crypto infrastructure quietly powers payments, identity systems, loyalty programs, tokenized assets, and cross-border transfers while offering an experience similar to traditional internet services.

Mirroring internet evolution

This concept has become increasingly popular among industry executives in recent years. Several major crypto firms have changed their focus toward improving user experience by abstracting away technical complexities such as gas fees, wallet management, and blockchain selection. The goal is to make blockchain as seamless as internet protocols that billions of people use daily without understanding how they work.

Scaramucci has repeatedly expressed optimism about the long-term adoption of digital assets, particularly Bitcoin. His latest comments suggest he believes the industry is entering a phase where success will be measured not by how many people consciously use cryptocurrency, but by how extensively blockchain technology becomes integrated into mainstream digital services.

Critics often argue that digital assets remain too complicated for average consumers and have yet to demonstrate compelling real-world utility beyond speculation. Supporters, however, contend that this complexity is temporary and that future applications will hide the underlying technology from users entirely.

The idea of "invisible crypto" mirrors the evolution of the internet itself. Most people today rely on technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTPS, or cloud computing every day without understanding the protocols powering them. Many blockchain advocates believe crypto will follow a similar trajectory, becoming an invisible layer of digital infrastructure rather than a product users actively think about.

JPMorgan has warned that driven by the combined effects of war, weather, storage, water resources, and waste, a global food crisis may erupt in the first half of 2027. The global food inflation rate is expected to rise from 2.8% in the first half of 2026 to 5% in the first half of 2027. The overlap of a super El Niño and energy shocks will push the Food CPI up by an additional 1.5 percentage points, with emerging markets such as India, Indonesia, and Brazil being the most affected.
