The Altcoin Volcano Is Erupting: 4 Coins Traders Are Watching for the Next Parabolic Move

  • Altcoin rotation could remain selective, with liquidity and network activity becoming important factors for market participants.
  • RAY, ENA, CRV, VET, and OP represent different sectors, including DeFi, stablecoins, enterprise blockchain, Solana, and Ethereum scaling.
  • A stronger altcoin market is not guaranteed, as trading volumes, liquidity, competition, and broader risk sentiment remain key variables.

The altcoin market appears to be entering a more selective phase as traders assess where capital could move next. Rather than a broad rally, attention is increasingly being placed on established tokens with active markets and clear use cases. Five names drawing interest are Raydium (RAY), Ethena (ENA), Curve DAO (CRV), VeChain (VET), and Optimism (OP). Each operates within a different part of the crypto market, creating several potential rotation themes. Raydium is closely linked to Solana’s decentralized trading activity, while Ethena remains focused on synthetic dollar infrastructure.

DeFi continues to be a strong application of Curve, with its liquidity-centric protocol. VeChain has been selling around blockchain-based business applications and Optimism is involved in building the scaling of Ethereum with its Layer 2 network. If capital starts moving from one crypto sector to another, this could become a problem for them. The more liquid a position is, the less the risk from execution, but not the volatility or downside. For this reason, these tokens are considered to be candidates for rotation, not winners.

Raydium and Solana Trading Activity

Raydium has remained closely connected to the Solana ecosystem and decentralized exchange activity. Its position could make RAY sensitive to changes in trading volumes and speculative demand across Solana-based markets. Stronger network activity could support interest, although declining volumes could produce the opposite effect.

Ethena and the Stablecoin Theme

Ethena represents a different market segment through its synthetic dollar ecosystem. ENA could attract attention if stablecoin adoption and decentralized financial products remain important themes. However, its performance remains dependent on market conditions, protocol activity, and broader demand for on-chain financial products.

Curve and DeFi Liquidity

Curve DAO remains associated with decentralized exchange infrastructure and liquidity management. CRV could become relevant during a renewed DeFi rotation, particularly if capital returns to established protocols. Its market performance would still depend on liquidity, governance developments, and overall DeFi activity.

VeChain Targets Enterprise Adoption

VeChain has maintained a focus on enterprise blockchain applications and supply-chain use cases. VET could receive renewed attention if blockchain adoption expands beyond trading and financial markets. Its outlook, however, remains tied to real-world adoption and sustained network activity.

Optimism and Ethereum Scaling

Optimism occupies the Ethereum Layer 2 sector, where scaling remains an important blockchain development theme. OP could benefit from increased Layer 2 usage if Ethereum activity expands. Competition among scaling networks remains a major factor that could influence its longer-term position.

What Could Drive the Next Rotation?

The next altcoin rotation may not lift every token simultaneously. Capital could instead move toward sectors showing stronger usage, liquidity, and trading activity. That makes RAY, ENA, CRV, VET, and OP useful names to monitor. Still, market structure will remain more important than short-term narratives. Investors may therefore focus on volume, liquidity, network activity, and broader risk appetite before drawing conclusions about the next major crypto rotation.

How does Wall Street view the PCE? Goldman Sachs delays expectation for Fed rate hike

After the lower-than-expected US August PCE data was released, Goldman Sachs delayed its expectation for the Federal Reserve's second rate hike from October to December, and stated that it does not rule out the possibility that the Fed may eventually decide no further hikes are necessary. "New Fed Newsletter" Timiraos noted that the PCE does not change the previously known trend of rising inflation. Currently, the market prices in a 39% probability of a rate hike in October, down from 45% before the PCE release; and a 90% probability in December. The yield on 2-year US Treasury notes dipped slightly after the PCE announcement and then rebounded, while the 10-year yield continued to rise.
