The World Gold Council released the Q2 2026 "Global Gold Demand Trends Report" on July 30, showing that as gold prices retreated from record highs at the start of 2026, global gold demand in Q2 remained flat year-on-year at 1,269 tons. In the first half of this year, global gold demand rose by 2% year-on-year to 2,522 tons. The report indicates that as gold prices fell from high levels, global gold ETF, gold bars, and coin investments dropped to 262 tons in Q2. Among them, global gold ETF net outflows reached 45 tons, and investment in gold bars and coins declined by 3% year-on-year. In addition, global over-the-counter (OTC) investments reached 327 tons in Q2, showing stable performance. (Xinhua News Agency)
