Cryptocurrencies in 'Holding Pattern' Ahead of Fed Decision -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/07/29 14:221022 ET - Cryptocurrencies are mixed, with traders opting to move cautiously ahead of this afternoon's Fed rate decision. "Bitcoin and other crypto assets are in a holding pattern," says Nic Puckrin of Coin Bureau. "There's a lot in the pipeline in the next few hours that could move prices, so traders are hedging their bets." The CME Group's FedWatch tool is currently assessing a 64% chance of a hold on rates, with a 36% chance of a hike. Bitcoin rises 1.1% to $64,532, while ethereum drops 0.6% to $1,906. XRP is up 1.2% to $1.07, solana falls 0.4% to $73.67, and HYPE is up 0.4% to $55.37. (kirk.maltais@wsj.com)
