(1) Tata Power expects to build its first nuclear power plant as early as 2032. CEO Praveer Sinha stated that the company has selected sites in at least three states and will begin construction once the government finalizes regulations for private enterprises, aiming to complete the first privately-owned nuclear plant between 2032 and 2033. (2) India is ending decades of state monopoly in the nuclear sector, developing nuclear energy to enhance energy security and advance decarbonization, reflecting the global revival of the nuclear industry. (3) With the surge in electricity demand driven by artificial intelligence and data centers, countries are gradually moving away from the cautious approach adopted after the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident and refocusing on nuclear energy development.
