Household credit in South Korea expected to exceed 2,000 trillion won for the first time, with growth rate continuing to slow

(1) Industry insiders revealed on Sunday that driven by the growth of housing mortgage loans and stock-secured loans, South Korea's household credit volume is expected to exceed 2,000 trillion won (approximately $1.41 trillion) for the first time in the second quarter of this year. (2) As of the end of March this year, South Korea's household credit balance had already reached 1,993 trillion won, a record high, increasing by 14 trillion won compared to the end of last year. (3) This marks the seventh consecutive quarter of growth, but the growth rate has shown signs of slowing for the second consecutive quarter.
