  1. JPMorgan strategists noted in a report that the new Prime Minister Burnham is unlikely to deviate from his commitment to fiscal rules, which provides structural support for the pound. Although previous fiscal concerns temporarily weighed on the exchange rate, attractive yield levels suggest that the pound has allocation value at current levels.
  2. The appointment of John Healey as Chancellor of the Exchequer has effectively reduced political uncertainty, restored market confidence in fiscal discipline, and the pound is expected to move towards levels matching higher yields, reflecting economic fundamentals rather than risk discounts.
  3. The bank has already taken profits from the recent appreciation of the pound against the euro, Swiss franc, and Swedish krona, but its overall positive outlook remains unchanged. If there is a correction window triggered by a rise in risk premiums in the future, it will consider re-establishing these long positions.
