In 2024, as the government stepped up its crackdown on tech giants, the Department of Justice, along with 15 states, filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing it of monopolizing the smartphone market, undermining smaller competitors, and driving up prices. It is reported that it is currently unknown whether the attorneys general of the states are also engaged in settlement talks.
