Cardano will transfer control of its core software to external teams starting in August.

According to Odaily, Cardano development company Input Output will transfer control of key blockchain components such as Haskell nodes, the Plutus platform, and the Daedalus wallet to external professional teams starting in August, as part of a long-term decentralization initiative.

Independent companies such as Se7en Labs and Teragone will take responsibility for parts of the core infrastructure. At least three Cardano implementation versions will be maintained in Haskell, Rust, and Go, subject to community oversight and formal specification management.

Cardano is currently facing weak network activity and a significant drop in ADA token price. Founder Charles Hoskinson described this restructuring and related ecosystem setbacks as the necessary "growing pains" on the road to full decentralization.
