Since the unexpected decline in U.S. initial jobless claims on November 26, the probability of a rate cut has remained high.
The probability that the Federal Reserve will keep rates unchanged until January 2026 is 10%, the probability of a cumulative 25 basis point rate cut is 67%, and the probability of a cumulative 50 basis point rate cut is 23%.
The next two FOMC meeting dates are December 10 and January 28, 2026.
