Bitcoin Price Bottom: Has BTC Already Hit the Bear Market Low?

  • Bitcoin’s oversold conditions and improving momentum suggest a potential bottom may be forming.
  • Historical data still leaves room for another sharp decline before Bitcoin establishes a durable floor.
  • Analysts remain divided, with bottom targets ranging from $28,000 to $59,000.

Bitcoin — BTC, has suffered a brutal correction from the October record high near $126,080. BTC now trades around the low-$60,000 range. The decline has revived fears of another deep crypto winter. Yet several indicators suggest selling pressure may be approaching exhaustion. Some analysts already see signs of a developing bottom. Others expect Bitcoin to fall much lower before recovery begins. The key question now concerns how much downside remains before buyers return.

Bitcoin Bottom Signals Are Starting to Appear

VanEck believes Bitcoin’s decline broadly matches previous halving-cycle corrections. Each halving reduces new BTC supply entering the market. Historically, major corrections have followed powerful post-halving rallies. That pattern gives current price weakness some historical context. VanEck also uses the GEO framework to assess Bitcoin’s market health. The framework tracks global liquidity, ecosystem leverage, and on-chain activity.

Two signals currently remain neutral. Ecosystem leverage, however, sits in constructive territory. VanEck views these readings as early evidence of a possible bottom. The firm has suggested investors could scale into positions gradually. Such an approach avoids relying on one perfect entry point. CryptoQuant provides another reason for cautious optimism. Analyst MorenoDV studied adjusted Net Unrealized Profit/Loss data for long-term holders.

Long-term Bitcoin holders now carry deeper unrealized losses than broader market participants. Similar conditions appeared around previous major cycle bottoms. However, current losses remain smaller than levels seen during past capitulation events. Bitcoin could therefore experience another sharp decline before reaching a durable floor. Technical signals also provide some encouragement. Katie Stockton of Fairlead Strategies sees long-term oversold readings on two indicators.

Analysts Still See Room for Another Bitcoin Drop

Price targets remain divided across the market. Standard Chartered’s Geoffrey Kendrick identified $59,000 as a potential bottom. Bitcoin later closed June at $58,566. That marked the lowest daily close in almost two years. Galaxy Research takes a much more cautious position. The firm expects Bitcoin could bottom between $40,000 and $46,000 during Q4 2026.

A panic-driven scenario could push BTC toward $28,000. Glassnode also shows extensive signs of capitulation across Bitcoin’s market structure. Around 45 metrics currently signal capitulation conditions. The stretch represents the longest period since the FTX collapse. Analysts from Cowen, CryptoQuant, and Peter Brandt expect a potential bottom. Their estimates generally point toward September or October.

Bitcoin now trades near $63,000, leaving the market at a crucial decision point. The evidence supports both bullish and bearish arguments. Oversold conditions could encourage buyers near current levels. Yet historical comparisons show another decline remains possible. Long-term holder behavior will likely provide an important clue.
