At the Goldman Sachs technology conference, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said cybersecurity could be one of the most important applications for AI going forward. His reasoning is straightforward: as AI accelerates code generation, the speed at which that code can be attacked and exploited rises in parallel, continuously expanding the number of vulnerabilities enterprises need to patch — and the demand for AI-powered security tools that comes with it.
The underlying logic holds. Security exposure does scale with code volume. Companies like Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike stand to benefit if they can embed AI capabilities into security workflows, improving both throughput and response time.
The distinction worth drawing, though, is between "the logic is sound" and "when does it show up in earnings." Enterprise security procurement runs on long cycles, large-customer budget decisions move slowly, and AI security tooling is still in early adoption. Huang's remarks are directional rather than a near-term earnings catalyst that maps to a specific growth rate.
