Upgrading to a unified trading account helps you consolidate asset and position management and improve capital efficiency. During the upgrade, the system will automatically migrate eligible positions and transfer balances, with all transaction fees covered by the platform, so you can transition smoothly without having to manually close any positions.
What changes to funds and positions occur after the upgrade?
Once the upgrade is complete, your account funds and futures positions will undergo the following automatic adjustments:
Fund transfers
The system will automatically transfer the balance from your classic account to your unified trading account or funding account, with no manual action required:
-
Spot account: Coins supported by the unified trading account will be transferred to the unified trading account; unsupported coins will be transferred to the funding account.
-
Margin account: Coins supported by the unified trading account will be transferred to the unified trading account; unsupported coins will be transferred to the funding account.
-
Futures account: The entire balance, including realized PnL generated from position migration, will be transferred to the unified trading account.
Position migration
-
Positions eligible for automatic migration: USDT/USDC-M futures positions and coin-M cross margin perpetual futures positions.
-
Positions not eligible for automatic migration: Isolated margin futures positions, coin-M delivery futures positions, and margin positions. These positions must be manually closed before upgrading.

No open orders or outstanding liabilities across any product lines.
-
Not within five minutes before or after a funding fee settlement window.
-
Your futures and multi-asset margin accounts are not in risk control or ADL (auto-deleveraging) status.
-
The maintenance margin rate (MMR) of each futures account is < 20%.
-
Your multi-asset margin account's USDT balance + unrealized PnL ≥ 0.
Position and futures parameter requirements
-
No isolated margin futures positions, coin-M delivery futures positions, or cross/isolated margin positions.
-
Up to 10 positions can be carried over for the upgrade.
-
If you hold both USDT/USDC-M and coin-M positions at the same time, the position mode (one-way or hedge mode) must be consistent across both.
-
The leverage of each position must be no greater than the maximum leverage supported for that trading pair in the unified trading account.
-
The value of each position must be no greater than the upper limit of the corresponding risk limit tier in the unified trading account.

How to Upgrade to Unified Trading Account?
FAQ
1.
Do I need to pay a trading fee to upgrade to a unified trading account?
No. All transaction fees for position migration during the upgrade are fully covered by the platform.
2.
Which positions can be automatically migrated to the unified trading account?
USDT/USDC-M futures positions and coin-M cross margin perpetual futures positions can be automatically migrated. Isolated margin futures, coin-M delivery futures, and margin positions are not eligible for automatic migration and must be manually closed.
3.
Will my average entry price change after the upgrade?
Yes. The system will update your average entry price to the mark price at the time of migration, and any PnL between the original entry price and the migration price will be automatically settled and credited to your unified trading account.
4.
Why did my upgrade fail?
Upgrade failures are usually caused by open orders, risk control, an excessively high risk ratio, or holding positions that are not eligible for migration. Refer to the failure message shown on the page and follow the resolution section above to make the necessary adjustments before trying again.
5.
What margin mode will I be in after the upgrade?
If you upgrade via the app or web and only hold USDT/USDC futures positions, you will enter basic mode. If you hold coin-M positions or positions in the multi-asset mode, you will enter advanced mode. Users who upgrade via API will be placed directly into advanced mode.
