A $20 Billion Buyback Isn't Enough for GM's Stock Price -- WSJ
Dow Jones2026/10/20 12:11By WSJ Staff
General Motors posted higher profit and revenue in its latest quarter and announced a mega $20 billion buyback plan to boost its stock price.
But it seems the update left investors wanting more: Shares in the automaker are sliding almost 8% ahead of the bell.
One possible source of disappointment: Despite beating analyst estimates on revenue for the latest quarter, the company narrowed its full-year adjusted earnings per share guidance to $12.75 to $13.75, compared with $12 to $14 previously.
Analysts were expecting adjusted earnings of $13.47 a share.
