01:00 PM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia (NVDA) faces a challenge from DeepSeek and Huawei Technologies, which are collaborating on AI chips, The Information reported Monday, citing two people familiar with the matter. Huawei is folding DeepSeek's input into key architectural choices, including how future chips handle computation and move data across processors, for designs slated to roll out starting next year, the report said. Huawei engineers have been stationed at DeepSeek's offices to support the work, the report said, citing one of the people. The extensive collaboration is part of a broader effort to build advanced Chinese AI models on homegrown chips, the report said. Nvidia, DeepSeek, and Huawei did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
