Aurora Cannabis Reiterates Opposition to Curaleaf's Takeover Offer

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/14 20:25
04:25 PM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Aurora Cannabis (ACB.TO) was last seen down 2.8% in after-hours Nasdaq trade after the company on Wednesday reiterated its board of directors unanimously recommends shareholders reject Curaleaf Holdings' (CURA.TO) hostile takeover offer for all of Aurora's outstanding shares. The recommendation follows a unanimous decision by a special committee of independent directors and applies to Curaleaf's revised offer filed on Oct. 6, it added. Curaleaf last week firmed its cash and shares offer to $5.00 per Aurora share "The board and special committee have received an updated fairness opinion from their financial advisor confirming that the revised consideration is inadequate, from a financial point of view, to Aurora shareholders," the company said. The company also said its special committee is exploring alternatives to Curaleaf's revised hostile takeover offer that could deliver greater value to shareholders. Options include a potential deal with another company or remaining independent and continuing Aurora's existing strategy. Shares of Aurora Cannabis were last seen down $0.12 to $4.17 after hours. They closed down 3% to CA$5.93 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
