Sector Update: Consumer

09:03 AM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Wednesday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) up 0.7% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) 0.2% lower. Kimberly-Clark (KMB) has received European Commission approval to acquire Kenvue (KVUE), subject to the sale of its Kotex and other feminine hygiene brands in the European Economic Area, the Commission said. Kimberly-Clark stock was 0.2% higher pre-bell.
