Kratos Defense Starts Construction at Indiana Facilities for AN/SPY-1 Radar, Helios Laser Testing

08:58 AM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS) has started construction at its Odon, Indiana, facilities for AN/SPY-1 radar system and Helios laser testing, the company said Wednesday. The facilities comprise a 183,000-square-foot complex for the repair, testing, integration, and sustainment of the US Navy's AN/SPY-1 radar system, and a Helios arc jet and laser complex providing testing infrastructure for thermal protection systems used in hypersonic vehicles, Kratos Defense said. The investment is a product of $35 million US Department of Defense's Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment funding and cost-sharing from Kratos, the company said.
