Bank of America is reporting a third-quarter profit that came in below analyst expectations.
The results come after the Treasury Department said yesterday that it fined the bank $1.2 billion after finding it had insufficient systems to monitor for financial crimes. Bank of America says its results include a charge that hit its results by 17 cents per share.
The bank says this morning its profit was $6.9 billion for the third quarter, or 91 cents per share. Excluding the regulatory settlement charge, Bank of America said earnings were $1.08 per share, still below the $1.10 per share analysts expected.
Revenue was just shy of $30 billion, and below the $30.58 billion analysts expected.
Its shares were down in pre-market trading.
