Dutch lithography equipment leader ASML released its financial results for the third quarter of 2026 on Wednesday.

Zhitong Finance APP reports that Dutch lithography equipment leader ASML (ASML.US) released its third quarter 2026 financial report on Wednesday. Total net sales for the quarter reached 11.662 billion euros, up 55.2% year-on-year and 25.0% quarter-on-quarter, slightly below market expectations of 11.735 billion euros. Net profit was 4.96 billion euros, an increase of 133.4% year-on-year, significantly exceeding market expectations of 4.165 billion euros; gross margin was 57.5%, and basic earnings per share were 12.95 euros, compared to 5.49 euros in the same period last year.

Installed base management revenue (including net services and upgrade programs) reached 3.289 billion euros, which was the core driver behind the gross margin beating expectations this quarter. Sales of new lithography systems in the quarter were 113 units, a notable increase from 86 units in the previous quarter; second-hand lithography system sales were 8 units.

ASML expects fourth quarter net sales to be between 14.2 billion and 15.2 billion euros, with a gross margin of around 57%. The midpoint of the fourth quarter revenue guidance is 14.7 billion euros, higher than the previous market estimate of 14.189 billion euros. The full-year revenue guidance has been narrowed and raised from the previous range of 43 billion–45 billion euros to 44 billion–45 billion euros, and the full-year gross margin guidance has been increased from 54%–56% to approximately 56%.

Chief Executive Officer Christophe Fouquet stated in the financial report that customers are continuously raising their short- and medium-term equipment demand forecasts, and some customers have expressed intentions to place orders for equipment for as far out as 2029 and even 2030. The company also noted that, based on current capacity planning, supply in 2027 and 2028 is expected to fall short of fully meeting customer demand, and it is studying further capacity expansion in 2028.
