07:08 AM EDT, 10/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BioNTech's (BNTX) phase 2/3 trial of BNT113, combined with pembrolizumab, in head and neck cancer failed to meet one of its two primary endpoints, the company said Tuesday. The study's primary endpoints are progression-free survival and overall survival, and the combination therapy did not demonstrate a statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival, BioNTech said. The trial compares the combination therapy with pembrolizumab alone, the company added. BioNTech plans to continue the trial to evaluate the second primary endpoint, according to the statement. Shares of BioNTech were down more than 2% premarket Tuesday.
