Sector Update: Consumer

09:05 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Monday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) advancing 0.3% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) inactive. Stellantis (STLA) shares were up more than 2% pre-bell after the company presented six concept cars ahead of the Paris Motor Show, among more than 60 vehicles the automotive giant exhibited at the weeklong event. CNBC reported that the carmaker's Chief Executive Antonio Filosa has called on Europe to provide more incentives for carmakers to build vehicles in the region as Chinese companies increase their share of the European car market.
