Bausch Health's Salix Reports Improved Cirrhosis Care Adherence in Pilot Program

08:47 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bausch Health (BHC) said Monday its Salix Pharmaceuticals gastroenterology unit reported that results from a six-month pilot program showed improved adherence to recommended cirrhosis care practices. The analysis included 4,251 patients with cirrhosis across five community gastroenterology practices. The metrics included office visit adherence, laboratory monitoring adherence, non-selective beta-blocker treatment rates among patients with varices, medication treatment rates to reduce hepatic encephalopathy recurrence, and enrollment in chronic care management/principal care management programs. The preliminary findings are being presented at the American College of Gastroenterology Annual Scientific Meeting, which runs Oct. 9-14 in Nashville, Tenn.
