07:38 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Iridex (IRIX) said Monday that a two-year clinical study of its MicroPulse transscleral laser therapy showed sustained reductions in eye pressure and reduced medication use among glaucoma patients. According to the company, the study showed that average intraocular pressure fell to 14.05 mmHg from 22.32 mmHg at baseline after 24 months, while the average number of eye-pressure-lowering medications declined to 2.38 from 2.96. Treatment success rates were 86% for primary open-angle glaucoma and 81% for primary angle-closure glaucoma, the company said. The study reported no complications or declines in visual acuity during follow-up, it added. Iridex said all patients who were taking oral acetazolamide before treatment stopped using it and did not need to restart it during the two-year follow-up.
