Kratos, Airbus Complete First European Test Flight of U740 Valkyrie Combat Drone

06:00 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS) and Airbus have completed the first European flight of the U740 Valkyrie uncrewed combat aircraft, the companies said Monday. The test, conducted at a Northern Europe facility, met all objectives, including rocket-assisted takeoff, maneuvers at various altitudes and speeds of up to Mach 0.8, and in-flight mission adjustments, marking a key milestone toward delivering an uncrewed combat aircraft by 2029, the companies said. The companies said upcoming tests will integrate Airbus' Multi-Platform Autonomous Reconfigurable and Secure mission system, or MARS, designed to provide full European control over software, data and hardware. Airbus and Kratos said the aircraft is being developed to meet the operational requirements of Germany and other European armed forces. Kratos shares were down 0.28% in Monday premarket activity.
