BridgeBio's Acoramidis Linked to Promising Clinical Outcomes in Real-World Study

04:14 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BridgeBio Pharma (BBIO) said Monday that its prescription drug acoramidis was associated with better clinical outcomes than tafamidis in a real-world study of US patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy, or ATTR-CM. According to an independent analysis of US electronic health records from 2,684 patients, acoramidis was linked with an 18% lower risk of a composite of death, all-cause hospitalization, new-onset atrial fibrillation, and diuretic intensification, compared with tafamidis, BridgeBio said. The drug was also associated with significant reductions in hospitalization among people with ATTR-CM, including a 27% lower risk of cardiovascular and heart failure hospitalization, and a 25% lower risk of all-cause hospitalization. The company also added that the observational study has limitations, including the possibility of residual confounding and relatively short follow-up, and said further research is warranted.
