Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest sold shares in a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund, SpaceX and Robinhood on October 9, according to its daily trading disclosures. The firm also reduced positions in Alphabet and DraftKings while buying technology and biotechnology stocks.

ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF) sold 350,270 shares of the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB), representing 1.07% of its portfolio. ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) sold 22,276 SpaceX shares, while ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) cut its Robinhood holdings by 19,098 shares.

The disclosures do not explain the reasons behind the sales or confirm a broader shift in ARK’s cryptocurrency strategy.

The trades came as spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $487 million in net outflows on October 7 and another $244 million on October 8. The funds then recorded approximately $21 million in net inflows on October 9.

ARKQ bought 12,592 shares of Symbotic and 57,540 shares of Kodiak AI. ARK Genomic Revolution ETF (ARKG) also purchased shares in Nurix Therapeutics, Guardant Health, CRISPR Therapeutics and Intellia.

Meanwhile, ARKK sold shares of AMD, Shopify and Alphabet, while ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF (ARKX) reduced its Iridium holdings.

ARK’s daily disclosures provide a snapshot of its trading activity, although the firm notes that these notifications may be incomplete. Updated portfolio holdings offer a more comprehensive view of its investments.

Korean retail investors shift to the US in Q3: Sold over 5.5 trillion won of Korean stocks, purchased more than 10 trillion won of US stocks

In the third quarter, Korean retail investors made net purchases of US stocks worth approximately 10.15 trillion won, marking a complete reversal from the previous pattern in the first half of the year, when they made net purchases of nearly 100 trillion won in KOSPI stocks. In September alone, the sell-off amount reached as high as 14.2 trillion won. Analysts attribute this shift to a combination of factors: a sharp decline in KOSPI at high levels, the continued strength of the US stock market driven by AI themes, and the appreciation of the Korean won reducing currency exchange costs.
