Sector Update: Financial Stocks Advance Pre-Bell Monday

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.6% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.3% lower. UBS (UBS) had engaged with Nordea Bank over exiting Switzerland or potentially facing a new law that could compel it to hold up to $16 billion in additional equity or CET1 capital, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter. UBS Group stock was up 0.6% premarket. Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) shares were up more than 1% after the company said it launched new tanker and container freight futures and options as average daily volume across its freight markets rose 33% year to date. Ares Management (ARES) is seeking a multi-million-pound upfront payment from BT Group in exchange for supporting a potential takeover of struggling broadband provider TalkTalk, as the company faces a possible administration filing, Sky News reported. Ares Management stock was 0.5% lower pre-bell.
