Zhitong Finance APP reported that on Friday, Apple (AAPL.US) shares rose, with an increase of over 1.1% as of press time, bringing its market capitalization to $4.87 trillion. According to reports, renowned Apple product leaker Mark Gurman released several exclusive bombshells: the touchscreen MacBook Pro may debut as early as October, and the Apple Smart Home Hub is “already stocked in global warehouses.” Gurman revealed that Apple’s internal code name for the AI-powered Smart Home Hub is “J490”, and it is considered the key to breakthrough. “This is Apple’s next ‘Big Thing’, and it’s just a few weeks away from release.” Gurman emphasized that Apple’s previous attempts in the smart home field (such as iPod Hi-Fi and early HomePod) were “unfinished products,” but J490 will completely change this situation.
This device is described as “an Amazon Echo Show manufactured by Apple within the Apple universe,” with its biggest selling point being an entirely new operating system. “If Siri AI had its own operating system, rather than simply being an app or interface on the phone, what would it look like? This is the answer.” Gurman quoted, stating that the system integrates features from Watch OS and StandBy Mode, and “voice will become the primary means of interface interaction.”
