Amazon plans to invest more than 1 billion dollars in the data center community over the next five years

Amazon (AMZN.US) is promoting its “good neighbor” image to garner support for its artificial intelligence data centers. The cloud computing giant released a memo on Friday, stating that the competition for AI dominance is "a race our country can’t afford to lose", and listing various initiatives to support the communities where its data centers are located. The memo, written by Matt Garman, CEO of Amazon Web Services, is over 3,100 words long and states that Amazon will invest over $1 billion in these communities over the next five years, not including previously committed funds. This investment will be allocated to education, career training, water conservation, and other local priority issues.
