European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Start Week Slightly Lower in Monday Trading

11:21 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts opened the week tracking slightly lower Monday morning, declining 0.14% to 1,921.04 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index. From continental Europe, the gainers were led by oil and gas company Eni (E) and petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR), which rose 2.4% and 1.4%, respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS) and health tech company Royal Philips (PHG), which were up 0.7% and 0.6%, respectively. The decliners from continental Europe were led by telecommunications company Nokia (NOK) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which fell 2.4% and 2%, respectively. They were followed by software firm SAP (SAP) and 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), which dropped 1.6% and 1.1%, respectively. The gainers from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana (NCNA) and oil and gas company Shell (SHEL), which advanced 2.3% and 1.5%, respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company BP (BP) and telecommunications operator Vodafone Group (VOD), which increased 1.4% and 1.1%, respectively. The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by Endava (DAVA) and then Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX), which fell 4.7% and 2.4%, respectively. They were followed by Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC) and Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL), which lost 1.9% and 1.4%, respectively.
