According to Reuters, Solidigm, the US-based solid-state storage subsidiary of SK Hynix (SKHY.US), is considering an initial public offering as early as next year, with a potential valuation of up to 150 billion US dollars. Sources reveal that this week, Solidigm has held IPO underwriting bid meetings with multiple investment banks, and may raise around 15 billion US dollars through the listing. However, the IPO's size and timing are still in the early discussion stages and could be adjusted based on market conditions. Headquartered in California, Solidigm is the NAND flash memory and solid-state drive (SSD) business arm of SK Hynix. In 2020, SK Hynix acquired Intel's NAND flash and SSD business for about 9 billion US dollars and established Solidigm in 2021. Solidigm mainly supplies enterprise-level SSD products for servers, cloud computing, and data centers, with a strategic focus on the large-capacity storage market for AI applications. If listed, its valuation will significantly surpass semiconductor IPO cases in recent years, including Arm (ARM.US) with a valuation of about 54 billion US dollars when listed in 2023, and Cerebras projected to IPO at around 56 billion US dollars in 2026.
