Australian AI startup Firmus Technologies is in talks with lenders about a financing deal of approximately $10 billion to purchase Nvidia chips for its data center in Indonesia. If the deal goes through, it could become one of the largest AI infrastructure deals in Asia. According to sources, the company plans to raise about $7.5 billion in debt financing and approximately $2.5 billion in equity funding. The term for this financing arrangement may be five years. Firmus declined to comment. The negotiations come as Firmus plans to launch an IPO by the end of October, which could raise up to $5 billion, making it one of the largest IPOs in Australia. The funds raised will be used to purchase GPUs for its 360 MW Nvidia DSX AI factory campus located on Batam Island, Indonesia. The campus is being co-developed with DayOne Data Centers and is part of the company's eight-year partnership with Nvidia.
