Anthropic PBC is launching a new artificial intelligence model designed to handle a wide range of enterprise tasks at a lower cost. The startup is preparing for a highly anticipated debut on Wall Street.

According to Jinse Finance APP, Anthropic PBC is releasing a new artificial intelligence model designed to handle a broad range of enterprise tasks at a lower cost. The startup is preparing for its much-anticipated Wall Street debut, which is also part of its strategy to maintain an edge over competitors. On Tuesday, the company officially launched Claude Opus 5.5, stating that the model performs on par with the more powerful Fable 5.1 for most work tasks but at a significantly reduced cost compared to the previous Opus 5. Anthropic indicated that the new model generates outputs faster than Opus 5 and produces clearer writing.

The AI developer plans to launch new versions of Claude Sonnet and Haiku in the coming weeks to expand its 5.5 series model family.

Anthropic is accelerating the development of more advanced and cost-effective AI software as it competes for customers with OpenAI, Google under Alphabet, and numerous Chinese companies. The Claude developer is expected to initiate its IPO as early as this autumn, while competitor OpenAI will wait until next year.

Opus 5.5 is also the first new model released since Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for industry support to slow down AI development. He stated that the company will implement new safety measures, including the introduction of third-party evaluators. Previously, warnings about the potentially catastrophic risks of AI have intensified both within and outside Silicon Valley.

Anthropic stated that Opus 5.5 was tested by external organizations such as METR and Frontier Design before its release. The company has also deployed security protections similar to its more powerful Fable model, aimed at restricting higher-risk applications in cybersecurity and biology.
