Sector Update: Healthcare

01:09 PM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Healthcare stocks rose Monday afternoon, with the NYSE Healthcare Index increasing 0.3% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) adding 0.6%. The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed up 1%. In corporate news, Novo Nordisk (NVO) shares fell past 8% after it unveiled its long-term growth targets ahead of patent expirations for semaglutide, the active ingredient in its weight loss and diabetes drugs. At its capital markets day in London, the company said it is targeting risk-adjusted pipeline sales, including existing assets, of more than 150 billion kroner ($23.04 billion) by 2035.
