Valeura Energy Makes Exploration Discovery in Gulf of Thailand

06:12 AM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Valeura Energy (VLE.TO) has made an exploration discovery near the Manora oil field in the Gulf of Thailand, the company said Wednesday. Valeura will start a development planning phase for the Suraphi oil discovery to maximize its value and provide scope for future development in the area. The company has also completed a development and appraisal drilling campaign on the Jasmine field in the Gulf of Thailand. Four well bores were completed, two of which appraised several new zones that will be studied as potential future development candidates. As a result, Valeura has increased its organic investment opportunities at Jasmine and has seen an uptick in oil production, offsetting the near-term impact of natural production declines. Oil production rates have risen from 7,570 barrels per day to 8,250 bbls/d seven days after bringing all wells onstream.
