Veteran Investor Says the XRP Path Is Clear. Here’s why
The future of U.S. crypto regulation could take several routes, but Digital Asset Investor believes XRP already has a significant advantage in the route lawmakers and regulators take.
In a video attached to his latest X post, he focused on comments from Coinbase’s COO and CFO about the CLARITY Act and the different ways digital assets can obtain regulatory certainty.
Digital Asset Investor used the comments to make a broader point about XRP’s legal position. He explained that XRP has already gone through the court system and emerged with greater legal clarity, giving the asset a position that he believes few other cryptocurrencies can match.
Coinbase Identifies Three Paths To Regulatory Clarity
The video featured Coinbase’s executive discussing what could happen if the CLARITY Act fails to pass Congress. The executive explained that there have always been three paths toward regulatory clarity: Congress, federal agencies, and the courts.
“What happens if the Clarity Act doesn’t pass?” the Coinbase executive was asked.
He responded, “Look, there were always three paths to getting clarity. There was Congress, there were the agencies themselves, or there was the court system.”
The executive then referred to Coinbase’s own experience with the SEC. He explained that the company pursued regulatory clarity through the courts while facing action from the agency.
He also said Coinbase believes it could continue pursuing clarity through the SEC and CFTC if Congress does not pass the legislation.
“Both Chair Selig and Atkins have been incredibly innovative in trying to drive forward change and rulemaking at the agency level,” he said. He added that Coinbase expects to continue offering new products and services through agency-level developments.
Digital Asset Investor Connects The Comments To XRP
Digital Asset Investor used the Coinbase executive’s explanation to focus on XRP and Ripple’s previous legal battle with the SEC. Before the Coinbase comments continued, he asked viewers to consider which digital asset had already gone through a lawsuit and obtained legal clarity.
He then said, “There’s no other digital asset, including Bitcoin, besides XRP, where it gets to thrive no matter what happens.” The commentary concluded with a strong assessment of XRP’s position within the U.S. regulatory landscape.
For him, that makes XRP’s regulatory position less dependent on the outcome of future congressional action. The CLARITY Act remains relevant to the wider crypto market, but Digital Asset Investor’s video argues that XRP already has a legal foundation that sets it apart.
