Leonardo DRS Awarded $39.6 Million Naval Air Systems Command Contract to Produce Joint Tactical Terminal Transceiver Units

09:17 AM EDT, 09/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Leonardo DRS (DRS) has been awarded a $39.6 million contract by the US Naval Air Systems Command for the production and delivery of Joint Tactical Terminal Transceiver, or JTT-X, units, the defense contractor said on Monday. The JTT-X units are designed to communicate across a variety of government and commercial network pathways, including proliferated low Earth orbit satellites, providing flexible communications options for Naval Aviation missions, Leonardo DRS said. The firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract includes non-recurring engineering, production, aircraft integration, qualification, and production support for the EA-18G Growler aircraft, the company said.
