Bitget’s Protection Fund recorded an average valuation of $382 million in August 2026. Bitcoin’s recovery in the second half of the month helped push the fund well above its $300 million commitment.
Notably, the fund peaked at $441.5 million on August 27 and fell to a low of $345.3 million on August 1. It stayed above $300 million throughout the month.
In August, Bitcoin traded between $62,773 and $80,268, rising more than 25%, ending August at $78,553. Since much of the Protection Fund is held in Bitcoin, the price increase raised the value of the fund’s reserves. The fund ended the month at about $432 million.
Bitget said around 5,500 BTC supports the Protection Fund.
For context, Bitget created its Protection Fund in 2022 to help protect users during troubling market events. The exchange regularly shares the fund’s value so users can see how its reserves change with the crypto market.
