XRP price prediction for September 12 stays bullish above $1.35, the level that’s held through a choppy week even as the rest of crypto wobbled.

XRP trades near $1.3569, up 1.71% today, holding just above a support shelf near $1.33 to $1.35 that’s formed since early September following a sharp spike to $1.70 in late August. Price sits above the 20-day EMA at $1.3578 and the 200-day EMA at $1.3547, both converging almost exactly at current price, a tight cluster that’s kept the range narrow over the past two weeks.

A descending trendline connecting the late-August high down through the past two weeks of lower highs still caps price overhead, and the Parabolic SAR at $1.5647 remains well above current price, meaning the short-term trend hasn’t flipped bullish by that measure yet despite today’s bounce.

Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz said in an X Spaces discussion that he believes XRP could one day overtake Bitcoin in market cap, but not because Bitcoin shrinks. Asked directly if XRP could flip Bitcoin, he said: “Yeah, I do. But I think it wouldn’t happen from Bitcoin shrinking. It would happen from XRP growing faster than Bitcoin.”

His case rests on a broader scenario, not a Bitcoin decline. “It would happen in a world where digital assets are just wildly successful,” he said, one where “all of the major ones grow significantly” and the XRP Ledger “gets more of that growth” because of its higher functionality, higher speed, and features Bitcoin doesn’t support.

The remarks landed the same week XRP spot ETFs were among the only crypto funds still attracting net inflows during a broader market sell-off, timing that adds some real-world context to an otherwise long-term, speculative call.

XRP spot ETFs added $5.14 million on September 10, extending a streak of daily inflows even as Bitcoin ETFs posted three straight outflow sessions over the same stretch. This week is tracking toward a ninth consecutive positive week, $18.98 million so far through Wednesday, with Friday still to come, following $18.96 million the week before. Cumulative inflows across all XRP ETFs stand at $1.70 billion.

Franklin’s XRPZ led Wednesday’s inflow at $5.14 million, while Bitwise’s XRP fund remains the largest by net assets at $498.84 million. XRP pulling in money while BTC ETFs bled it, over the same days, is a real, near-term example of the decoupling story Schwartz and SMQKE are both pointing to.

XRP holds above $1.35 and clears the descending trendline near $1.40. A close above $1.45 opens room toward $1.55, backed by nine straight weeks of ETF inflows and XRP’s continued outperformance relative to Bitcoin’s fund flows this week.

XRP loses $1.35 and the SAR at $1.5647 keeps confirming a cautious short-term trend. A break below the 50-day EMA at $1.2704 would suggest the low-correlation thesis is being tested rather than playing out.

What is the XRP price prediction for September 12, 2026?

XRP could extend toward $1.45 and then $1.55 if it holds above $1.35. Losing that level risks a pullback toward the 50-day EMA at $1.2704.

Does XRP really have a low correlation to Bitcoin?

Yes, according to multiple WisdomTree datasets. One recent figure puts XRP’s correlation to Bitcoin at 0.35, among the lowest of any major cryptocurrency, though correlations between crypto assets have historically tightened during sharp market-wide selloffs.

Are XRP ETFs still seeing inflows?

Yes. XRP spot ETFs are on track for a ninth consecutive week of net inflows as of September 11, even as Bitcoin ETFs posted three straight days of outflows over the same period.

Could XRP actually overtake Bitcoin’s market cap?

Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz said it’s possible, but only in a scenario where the broader digital asset market grows substantially and the XRP Ledger captures a larger share of that growth due to its functionality, not from Bitcoin declining.

"New Federal Reserve News Agency": The Federal Reserve is set to raise interest rates next week, but a single rate hike won't solve the problem

Nick Timiraos from "The New Federal Reserve News Agency" recently wrote that investors have largely concluded that the Federal Reserve will make its first interest rate hike in three years next week, but the harder question is what will happen afterward. Since almost no one inside the Fed believes that a single 25 basis point rate hike is enough to bring down inflation, a decision to raise rates next week would reflect the judgment that rates were previously set at the wrong level, and a single hike cannot solve the problem. Since the 1990s, the Fed has only had one "one-time" rate hike.

WTI crude oil net long positions hit a 20-week high as the Trump administration considers invoking the Defense Production Act to expand refining capacity

Refinery executives stated that it takes several years for new refineries to become operational, and they prefer to improve the efficiency of existing refineries. Currently, the average price of diesel in the United States has surpassed $6 per gallon for the first time, gasoline prices remain high, and refinery operating rates have reached approximately 98%. According to CFTC data, for the week ending September 8, net long positions in NYMEX WTI crude oil reached a 20-week high, and net long positions in gasoline hit a 9-month high.
