Former Ripple CTO Makes Surprising XRP Prediction

David Schwartz, the longtime architect of the XRP Ledger and Ripples Chief Technology Officer emeritus, said publicly this week that XRP could one day overtake Bitcoin by market capitalization. Speaking during a recent X Spaces discussion, Schwartz answered a direct question about whether such a flippening was possible. Yeah, I do, he replied, adding a key caveat. Bitcoin traded near $77,165 on September 10, with a market cap of around $1.54 trillion, while XRP traded near $1.35, with a market cap of around $85 billion, putting Bitcoin roughly 18x larger. Matching Bitcoins current valuation would require XRP to trade near $24.50, assuming Bitcoins market cap holds steady and using XRPs circulating supply of approximately 62.7 billion tokens.
