07:36 AM EDT, 09/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Chemours (CC) and DuPont de Nemours (DD) said Thursday that, along with Corteva (CTVA), they have agreed to a $455 million settlement with North Carolina and 11 local entities to resolve PFAS-related claims. The settlement resolves litigation related to PFAS and other historical discharges from its Fayetteville Works facility, as well as certain PFAS contamination claims unrelated to the site, including from the use of aqueous film forming foam, the companies said. Payments of about $355 million on a net present value basis will be made over 15 years, with Chemours responsible for 50%, or about $180 million, while DuPont and Corteva will be responsible for the remaining 50%, the companies said. Chemours said it expects its share of payments over the next 12 months to be about $50 million. DuPont said the pre-tax present value of its share is roughly $126 million, of which 44% shall be reimbursed by Qnity Electronics (Q).
