The US Secretary of Energy stated that, in addition to the Strait of Hormuz, there are 3 to 5 million barrels of crude oil transported daily via alternate pipelines. The existence of such alternative transport routes can, to some extent, provide additional buffer space for the stability of global crude oil supply when fluctuations occur in shipments through key straits.
