Samsung partners with Mistral to fully empower chip design and manufacturing
During the Korea-France presidential summit, Samsung Electronics announced a partnership with the French AI startup Mistral AI. At the same time, OpenAI revealed that it is deepening its collaboration with Samsung, jointly developing next-generation chips, and that Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong held direct talks with OpenAI executives in July this year.

At the recently concluded Korea-France presidential summit, global technology giant Samsung Electronics officially announced an important collaboration with the renowned French AI startup Mistral AI. OpenAI also disclosed that it is deepening its cooperation with Samsung Electronics to jointly develop next-generation chips, and that direct high-level discussions took place between Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong and OpenAI this July. Meanwhile, Samsung’s ecosystem continues to expand in multiple directions: in March this year, Samsung jointly developed next-generation edge-side AI chips with Arm and saw OpenAI as a potential client; at the end of August, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix teamed up with Qualcomm to promote the commercialization of HBC chips; in June, a special task force for the energy business was established; in March, potential foundry collaboration opportunities with AMD were discussed; and Co-CEO Kyung Kye-hyun clearly expressed his willingness to establish strategic partnerships with major players including OpenAI.
