Sector Update: Consumer

08:58 AM EDT, 09/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were declining premarket Tuesday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) down 0.4% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) 0.7% lower. United Natural Foods (UNFI) shares were up more than 4% after the company reported that it swung to fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings from a loss a year earlier.
