Update: Franklin Templeton to Buy Majority Stake in Stoneshield Capital

Franklin Templeton (BEN) said Tuesday that it agreed to buy a majority stake in European investment firm Stoneshield Capital. Stoneshield founders will retain a minority stake and continue to run the firm, it said. The deal is expected to close in Q4, with financial terms undisclosed. Stoneshield will join Franklin's real estate unit Clarion Partners, roughly tripling Clarion's assets under management in Europe, it said.
