0446 GMT - With the U.S. labor market remaining at full employment, last week's jobs report is likely not reason enough for the Fed to raise interest rates at its coming meeting, says Christian Scherrmann, chief U.S. economist at DWS. Hiring exceeded expectations in August, with the creation of 162,000 new jobs, he notes, adding that the figure for July was revised from a decline of 23,000 jobs to an increase of 21,000 jobs. Domestic price pressures remain dominated by external factors such as energy prices and tariffs. The coming CPI report will be the main factor in determining whether higher policy rates are warranted or not, he adds. (monica.gupta@wsj.com)
