According to a report by CBS, the American Automobile Association (AAA) stated that ahead of the Labor Day holiday, the average price of regular gasoline in the United States is $4.14 per gallon, nearly $1 higher than the same period last year and well above the previous record high of $3.82 set during Labor Day in 2012. AAA pointed out that during Labor Day, the price of regular gasoline in the United States has never before exceeded $4 per gallon. According to tracking data from Brown University, since the outbreak of the Iran war, the increase in gasoline and diesel prices has caused each American household to spend more than an additional $741 on average.
