XRP Rich List Exposed: Here’s the Real Data Behind the Biggest XRP Holders

A new X post from finance coach Kamil H. Stevenson highlights XRP holdings distributions across the XRP Ledger. The post directs followers to a video that examines the XRP required to reach different ownership tiers, while also questioning whether the largest wallets actually represent individual investors.

20 XRP Places Holders in the Top 50%

Stevenson shared the Bull Runners video with the caption, “THE XRP RICH LIST EXPOSED!” and asked viewers to examine the data behind the largest XRP holders, including who is accumulating and who is holding.

According to the video, owning 20 XRP was enough to place an account in the top 50% of XRP holders as of August 20, 2026. It stated that an account holding 21 XRP had more XRP than more than 4 million wallets.

The video attributed the large number of small accounts partly to changes in the XRP Ledger’s reserve requirements. It stated that validators approved a reduction in the base reserve from 10 XRP to 1 XRP in December 2024. The owner reserve for ledger objects also fell from 2 XRP to 0.2 XRP.

Bull Runners argued that the lower reserve requirement made it significantly cheaper to open and maintain an XRP Ledger account. As a result, the number of funded accounts increased without necessarily indicating a comparable increase in committed XRP investors.

The video said the XRP Ledger had 8,071,889 funded accounts as of August 20, compared with approximately 7.7 million in March. It therefore estimated that roughly 400,000 funded accounts had been added in five months.

The XRP Ownership Thresholds Rise Quickly

The video placed the top 10% threshold at approximately 2,138 XRP, while the top 5% required between 7,745 and 8,000 XRP. It then identified 44,823 XRP as the threshold for the top 1% on August 20.

For the top 0.1%, the video cited approximately 295,194 XRP and estimated that only about 7,554 wallets reached that level.

Bull Runners then made an important distinction regarding the very largest XRP wallets. The video claimed that fewer than 800 wallets represented the top 0.01%, but argued that these addresses should not automatically be interpreted as wealthy individuals. According to the presentation, many of these wallets belong to exchanges, institutional custodians, or Ripple.

Large Wallets Do Not Always Reveal Investor Intent

The video cautioned that blockchain data shows transactions but does not necessarily reveal why funds moved. An exchange wallet receiving XRP could indicate deposits from customers preparing to sell, while a custodian moving assets could simply be reorganizing client funds.

It also pointed to escrow transactions as another example of large movements that do not necessarily represent an individual’s decision to buy or sell XRP.

Bull Runners therefore identified the approximately 7,500 wallets in the top 0.1% as a more relevant group when assessing large private holders.

The video also connected XRP ownership data with developments on the XRP Ledger, including growth in RLUSD activity and the introduction of new ledger features. It concluded by encouraging viewers to check their own XRP holdings against the publicly available distribution data.

VIPCrypto Rally, Bond Sell-Off: Where the Next Opportunities May Emerge

1. Global sovereign bonds sold off in tandem this week, with Japan at the epicenter. On September 2, the 10-year JGB yield reached 3.0175%, breaking above 3% for the first time since 1996. Over the past 12 months, it has risen 133.9 basis points, the largest increase among the six major developed-market maturities tracked. Over the same period, the French 10-year yield rose 79.7 basis points, the U.S. 10-year 74.6 basis points, and the German 10-year 70.8 basis points. The sell-off was driven less by renewed rate-hike expectations than by a repricing of fiscal supply and term premium, compounded by an approximately 10% weekly rise in crude oil, which pushed inflation expectations higher again. 2. The bond sell-off and crypto rally are not contradictory; they reflect the same underlying repricing dynamic. Bitcoin gained 2.50% for the week to $79,804 and 23.95% over the month, while gold rose 10.40% over the month. When markets are more concerned about sovereign solvency and currency purchasing power than the cost of capital, supply-constrained assets can rise alongside bond yields. On September 4, U.S. August nonfarm payrolls increased by 162,000, well above the 53,000 expected, and the implied probability of a September rate hike rose from 49.4% to 58% that day. This repricing dynamic still has further to run. 3. Within crypto, the most active capital is not concentrated in major assets, but in a new blockchain launched only in July. Robinhood Chain's TVL rose 26.2% week over week to $836 million, while seven-day DEX volume reached $11.30 billion, up 105.7% week over week and already above BSC's $8.70 billion and Base's $5.75 billion. ARB gained 50.97% for the week, UNI rose 41.35%, and PONS surged approximately 359%, compared with just 2.50% for Bitcoin over the same period. 4.Assets to watch: BTC, ETH, PONS, ARB, UNI, MARSCOIN, XAUUSD, UKOUSD, ORCL, ADBE.
